George Clooney’s New Crusade
Actor, director and activist George Clooney heads to Sudan to bring attention to the conflict there.

George Clooney is known for his activism as much as for his work as an actor and director. Clooney has long been an advocate for people in the conflict-ridden Darfur region of Sudan, and now he’s taking up the cause again. Clooney has returned to Sudan to bring attention to tensions there that are expected to become a full-fledged civil war.
“I think it can be stopped,” Clooney said on NBC’s Today show this morning. “We stopped [the previous Darfur conflict] in 2005 with diplomacy. We didn’t stop it with soldiers. So, yes, if we get involved now, we have a shot.”
